After the midweek highs from winning the Middlesex County FA Senior Cup against Barnet, we came crashing back down to Earth here as the Ladies lost in a drab affair against Charlton Ladies.

The first-team have only played four times since the turn of the year, which is a result of all the weather problems over the winter period. And with such little time on the pitch together over those months, it’s not easy to click and gel back into place once the action resumes.

Charlton Athletic Ladies finished a creditable 4th in the Premiership Southern Division last season, so our opening game of the league campaign against them was always going to be a stern test.
