What do we do now?

With Tommy Williams returning to Peterborough and Ben Watson going back to Wigan, it leaves us with space to make some potential loan signings.

I think that’s the best course of action for the club right now. It doesn’t make sense to allow a short-term managerial appointment to have full control over the futures of the players, who are supposed to be here for the long-term.

In any case, I am just as surprised with Paul Hart saying he’s in control of who’s coming and going when those before him, who were long-term appointments, clearly weren’t.

I think we’re in a really unusual situation and if I was a Rangers player, I’d be really confused and concerned about my future and I wouldn’t be happy if it was the current manager or the actual club making decisions that would affect my career.

It needs to be from a manager who knows he is there for the long haul and because nobody really knows what’s going on, or when things will stabilise, it’s creating an unnecessary effect around the place and sapping everybody’s morale.

You have to fear for Paul Hart’s future here too. The fans are baying for his bloody already and are ready to turn on anything that looks remotely sour. It’s only a matter of time before he’s shown the door or leaves on his own accord and after seeing Gary Megson lose his job at Bolton, it’s hard to see Hart’s fate being anything different to his, especially when he’s being booed when we’ve won.

For me, it feels like there’s a real lack of leadership at the club at the moment. We lack leaders on the pitch, we lack leadership from the manager simply due the frequent chopping and changing and we lack leadership from the Board, because we see and hear so little from them. It makes the club seem faceless when all it needs is someone to come out and take some responsibility and clarify what’s going on?

I sincerely hope things change for the positive as quickly as possible, because we can still salvage something from our season but with everything being so delicate right now, we’re in a real danger of derailing it completely too.
