Finding the cog in the wheel

We need a positive result and performance today.

People keep harping on that we need a striker, but I think the service to the front men needs addressing and I’m looking forward to seeing what type of impact Ben Watson has on the team.

We do need a goal scorer, but there is some sense in bringing in a player who is able to distribute both short and long passes intelligently and Ben certainly has that in his locker. He has the best bits of Martin Rowlands, Gavin Mahon and Alejandro Faurlin in him and is a more complete midfield player.

And what we need out of Ben is control…a player who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and control possession in a way that allows us to dominate and keep the ball. In recent season’s we’ve not made the right type of forward passes, so if Watson can bring that side of his game to QPR then it’s going to create better situations to attack from and better chances for our attacking players to finish off.
