And now a little something for me
I embarked on this journey with the Ladies team almost a year ago now, without really having a clue about what I was letting myself in for and to say it’s been an unbelievable experience still doesn’t do it any justice.
I did not realise how exhausting it was going to be, coupled by the fact that I was often following the men up and down the country too but I’d like to think that the hard work and commitment to the cause paid off in the end. I did over 70 matches this season and countless training sessions as well, so along with my day job it has been a gruelling, intense and non-stop year.
And working with these Ladies has made me understand more clearly how difficult it is to get things right and run a successful football club. Despite our successes, it’s been a very taxing season and we’ve overcome many challenges and hurdles along the way.
But it has been a marvellous journey that has enriched my life beyond my expectations and I am thrilled to have been a part of it. To experience any joy with QPR is always going to be special, but to get off your own backside and be given the opportunity to get involved and contribute something has been extraordinary. I’ve learned an awful lot.
So here I am, one season in and posing with the Women’s South West Combination League Championship trophy that the first-team won to reach the promised land of the FA Women’s Premier League Southern division.
To stand with this in my hands is a real honour and a privilege that makes me very proud and my journey with the team this season has reminded me that there’s still an awful lot to love about QPR.
